Kathleen Culiver Buchanan

I was born at Luke Airforce Base in Phoenix Arizona.  I grew up in the Cave Creek area and spent lots of time roaming around our beautiful state. Prescott and Bisbee are two of my favorite homes. Climate and room to roam are very important to me.  When I got older and decided to remarry I married David Culiver. He was a great man. He grew up in Bisbee and became a very successful business man. I was fortunate to become his wife. We had a lot of fun and he brought me to Bisbee when we married. We would come back for his High School reunions. It was always so wonderful meeting people he knew and that still came to the reunions. When he and my parents passed away and I  was able to relocate I chose Bisbee. The timing was perfect.  House prices were on the rise and so everything came together like it was fate. I found a wondrous property and bought up more land around me as a buffer. But I  watched prices of housing and jobs in the community fall short of an economic opportunity for the average family to be able to live here. So I  decided to try to make a difference in the housing industry.  I wanted to build an affordable housing community with a work/ live opportunity.  Not only that but affordable enough for everyone wanting a safe place to live to have the ability to achieve it. I purchased a 16 acre C2 zoned parcel near enough to walk to the grocery store and hardware store and catch the public transport.  It is a MAJOR undertaking but we are working as a community to reach our goals. It's the only way possible in today's world to accomplish the problem of affordable housing.  We must create jobs and low income housing for Bisbee to grow and thrive. We need Government help, Financial Gifts and Grants to make this happen. My personal achievement will be a legacy of giving and security for my sons family, that my grandchildren will understand what it takes to be a prosperous community.....
